it came up early on in our relationship, and although i knew he didn't want to hear it, i told him about the significant guys in my life. i needed him to know what i'd gone through to understand who i am now.

but most guys aren't like my boyfriend, most girls aren't like me, and most relationships aren't like mine. my guy was able to handle it, and i think it's made our relationship that much stronger.

bottom line: if it's something you're comfortable sharing, then go ahead. but be prepared with how he reacts. if you know he won't react well, then don't answer it...although by not answering it he might jump to even worse conclusions. however, if this relationship is going to work you need to stat with honesty now. you may have slept with x number of guys in the past, but you're his now. if he can't accept that, it should tell you a lot about your relationship...

NEVER share that information. I think your past should stay in the past especially when it comes to intimacy. If you plan on being completely open with your SO, then you neeed to save them the pain and continual thoughts of how, when, where and who you had sex with prior to them. Let them feel safe with you and then they will feel that its easy to be themselves and not try to compete with everyone from your past. Respect is key in this situation, you do not need to lie, but just be aware of how you would feel being in their shoes. Leave the past in the past!!!

there's nothing that can come good of it.  it just brings up insecurities out of people.  avoid it.
